Falling in Love

Oh so many things to show!! Replacement logs are in! Floor is down! Stairs are gone. Chase put in cool support beam. Chase has finished lot of leveling and making rough frames for the door and window. I've been working on the kitchen floor..grinding away. Chase and Doodle cleaned up the back where the logs went and uncovered a old oil tank barried in the ground, full of water. The culprit for the rotten logs. And oh my I'm just in love with what falls gonna look like at the house. This month of the house and school has been non-stop which is why I'm so late in posting updates..but I'll let the photos do the talking for once.

Piece by Piece

If only I could some how mentally write my thoughts while were at the house I know these posts would be much better. I always have so much to say and then by the time we get home, unloaded and showered my brain decides to shut down. I do remember that today was a beautiful day at the house. The weather today was beautiful and I spent most of my day cleaning up branches around the yard, and helping the men with an extra hand when I was needed. We've been so foucsed on the inside of the house since day one that other then mowing and picking up sticks we don't spend much time outdoors. Every time I do end up outside for awhile I fall more in love with it. It makes it start to feel like a home when you feel your self finding places that are peaceful and familiar. I already know discovering what it all looks like in fall is going to be one of my favorite seasons so far.

On the inside this week things are looking equally as beautiful as the outside. Doodle finished an absolutely amazing stone fireplace. It's gorgeous, it's a work of art. I just can't stop looking at it. He even asked me to put the last stone in which I will not forget every time I look at it. A good friend, Larry, surprised us all and came and lended us a hand Saturday too which was so generous of him! Thanks to the uninvited humidity and wet weather lately we've had some unwanted house guests growing on the new joists we put in. So after learning everything I think possible about mold this week, I spent Friday night and Saturday cleaning all of that off. Chase spent his time this week leveling out the logs of the interior log wall, which originally had quite the slant in them. We just ended up taking all the logs down and then putting them back up one by one. It felt like we were playing Lincoln Logs...with very big toys. Tommrow Chase, Doodle and my Dad plan on trying to get the to replacement logs in which will be amazing! Every single time I go to write a post about the house, I feel overwhelming grateful. This whole process so far has been challenging but so rewarding. I'm constantly just in awe of the support and help we have from our family and our friends. We had two beautiful weddings Saturday and we got to see so many very cherished friends. I just can't begin to say thank you enough to how blessed Chase and I are with amazing people in our lives. I thought because of how inspired I was around the outdoors of the house today that I'd share some photos outside the house too, so many places of the little property I haven't even explored yet, and it just excites me think of all the discoveries we still have ahead of us.

Here a progression from months ago of the logs and the fireplace. I love seeing the progression all together in one picture.
