Four Months Later

So here we are in December......wait a second we aren't in December anymore. When I started this post we were, and I was midst graduating college....finally. So back then we were one week from Christmas and it was 70 + degrees outside. You can all blame me for that weather, and maybe it's a part of bigger world issues, but I'm no scientist so I won't comment on that. I prayed we would have a long fall, because it was the only chance we would have to get any chinking done before it got to cold for it to set up. Well I didn't think that meant these temps, but hey I'll take it. So whats taken place since the last time I posted (october *gulp* that was awhile ago huh) Well since then we treated and stained all the logs. Chase and our fathers have gotten every single window in the house. Chase has cut insulation with help from all kinds of people; his mom, his dad, my dad, and even me some.  All of that is now in, he has siliconed and sealed. He has now started trimming out windows as well. I haven't been quite the distant one these last few months. It's sad the lack of work I've put in over there, but I finally graduating college...finally and I'll be back at the house work in no time. Just this weekend chase had me digging red clay and wheel borrowing it out of the basement. And once again I was shown how much stronger he is then me, in just about every way I know.

The biggest update and best part of all, Chase's dad went to town on the west-south side of the house and chinked the whole thing on of those warm Saturdays! We have a whole wall basically finished y'all! It doesn't even seem real. Every time I look at the house I get all giddy. It's starting to look like a real house! We don't have heat, electric in the log part, or plumping..but it resembles a house from the outside. Having it sealed up like it is feels really good. It's been a little bit of a nerve wracking months, walking away with the whole thing basically wide open. I know it gives Chase piece of mind and that's the most important part, and he needs all he can get over there. He has been basically solo, especially mentally over the last few months, due to me being so occupied with school. That part hurts me. The stresses he's endured for me isn't fair and I hope I can begin to take that off of him finally. As we begin into the new year I hope we see a lot less mold, a lot more wins and maybe even late in the year we will live there. Maybe. I'm not getting my hopes up about anything. There is a LOT left to do. Right now its more sealing the little cracks, finishing up the crawl space, gables, fixing the ceiling/floor of the second story, attic floor, new floor beams, deciding on where to run the wire in those floor beams before floor goes down, maybe actually having all the cabinets in and a countertop down, the bar top....and the list goes on. So for now I'll let a picture update do the talking.

I don't promise they are in order, but there together and finally posted, so that's a plus.
